Compos

General rules

  • No previously spread productions allowed
  • All productions will be spread in public after the party
  • We accept entries by mail (grepparty@gmail.com)
  • If you enter a competition by mail you may not be able to win any prize
    (demo compo winner will ofcourse get their name on the trophy)
  • Compos will be combined with others if there are too few entires

Compo machines

  • Amiga 1200, Blizzard 1260-50MHz, 64 mb fast, OS 3.1.
  • Commodore 64 (8580), 1541-II diskdrive, Action Replay 6.
  • MSX2, 128 kb ram, 128 kb vram.
  • PC, Intel Core i3-2.13GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (unless some better alternative pops up).

Compo prizes

The prices will be diplomas to the winner of each compo and ofcourse, in the demo compo the GREP trophy wanderingspocale is at stake!


And the compos are...

Demo

  • All platforms.
  • The demo must run on one of the compo machines or a computer that you supply yourself.
  • Keep the filesize reasonable.
  • Intros are welcome aswell (duh!).

Chip music

  • Maximum four channels.
  • Maximum filesize is 32 KB (32768 bytes).
  • No more than 3 minutes and 30 seconds of each song will be played.
  • All common tracker formats and executables for your oldschool machines.
  • If your entry is not Hippoplayer/XMPlay compatible or a C64 executable you must bring an MP3-version along with the original file.

Wild music

  • All kinds of music that does not fit in 'Chip music' (mp3, mod, xm, executable music etc).
  • No more than 3 minutes and 30 seconds of each song will be played.
  • If it's not possible to play your entry with Hippoplayer (Amiga) or XMPlay (PC) you must bring an MP3-version along with the original file.

Pixel graphics

  • Maximum resolution is 320x256 pixels and a maximum of 32 colours.
  • No conversions from high-resolution images are allowed.
  • Allowed formats are IFF, GIF, PNG and executables for your oldschool machines.
  • No animations or scrolling pictures.

Wild

  • Anything that does not fit in any of the other compos.
  • We prefer stuff made with computers or in some other way computer related.
  • This is for animations, games, homemade hardware, skateboard videos and more.
