Compo info

General rules

  • No previously spread productions allowed.
  • All productions will be spread in public after the party.
  • We accept entries by mail (grepparty@gmail.com).
  • If you enter a competition by mail you will not be able to win any prize.
  • Compos will be combined with others if there are too few entires.

Compo machines

  • Amiga 1200, Blizzard 1260-50mhz, 32 mb fast, OS 3.1.
  • Commodore 64 (8580), 1541-II diskdrive, MMC Replay.
  • PC, something powerful enough for MP3's, AVI's etc. If you need lots of power for a demo, please bring your own machine.

Compo prizes

As GREP is a small non-commercial demoparty we can't offer any huge prizes. However, there will be something for the winner and the runner up in each compo. Also, if you are willing to sponsor some fancy hardware from your closet, get in touch with the crew!


And the compos are...

Demo

  • All platforms.
  • The demo must run on one of the compo machines or a computer that you supply yourself.
  • Maximum filesize of all files archived is 10 MB (10485760 bytes).

Chip music

  • Maximum four channels.
  • Maximum filesize is 32 KB (32768 bytes).
  • All common tracker formats and executables for your oldschool machines.
  • If your entry is not Hippoplayer/XMPlay compatible or a C64 executable you must bring an MP3-version along with the original file.

Wild music

  • All kinds of computer music that does not fit in 'Chip music'.
  • If it's not possible to play your entry with Hippoplayer (Amiga) or XMPlay (PC) you must bring an MP3-version along with the original file.

Pixel graphics

  • Maximum resolution is 320x256 pixels and a maximum of 32 colours.
  • No conversions from high-resolution images are allowed.
  • Allowed formats are IFF, GIF, PNG and executables for your oldschool machines.
  • No animations or scrolling pictures.

ASCII graphics

  • Maka a logo suited for the GREP White 2008 results file.
  • Only Amiga style ASCII.
  • Only "handmade" ASCII, no coversions from bitmap etc.
  • Maximum 78x29 characters.

Wild

  • Everything that does not fit in any of the other compos.
  • We prefer stuff made with computers or in some other way computerrelated.
  • This is for animations, games, homemade hardware, skateboardvideos and more.

Surprise

  • Various compos announced at the party.
